Ann,

I fianlly got a hold of a nice PR person at Univision. I sent the request for an interview with Univision’s anchor Jorge Ramos (The brown Anderson Cooper)

I need help drafting questions for “Across the Generations”

Where should my interview go? Because I should warn you he’s the reason I got into journalism, so it would be like talking to Elvis.

This is SO exciting! Why don’t we talk about and brainstorm questions in here. That way, people can chime in if they want. Key will be to focus on five core questions you want covered (vs having a bunch of questions that basically cover the same ground)

Oooooohhhh!!! I love the Q & A format. Is that what this is? I saw Jorge Ramos at a recent press conference here in D.C. What’s the interview about?

Yeah, Luis is doing his Web requirement as an “Across the Generations” interview ... Gonna interview Jorge Ramos ("The brown Anderson Cooper"). If you want to do an Across the Gne, let me know—we have a list of people we’d like to have interviewed. Here are links to some previous ATG’s.... http://www.chipsquinn.org/voices/generations/generations_summary.aspx

A. M. -You saw him in a recent press conference? I’ve been staking him trying to find out where he is so I can set something up and have been unsuccessful...oh the agony.

And everyone else, I will continue to try and get in contact with Ramos. I think Chile and the immigration march has set my efforts half a step forward and three steps back.

Nevertheless my Q and A would consist around the theme of diversity. Ramos has repeated more than once that he would have loved to cross over to English media, but knew he couldn’t because of his accent and background.

I want to frame the interview around the following premise--how do foreign-born Latinos cross over into English media knowing fairly well that Univision media coverage and Hispanic media coverage is a world of difference from English media.

If I don’t finallize anything by this month, I will interview another interesting character and my new friend Charlie Ericksen the 80 year-old man who was born caucasian and will die Chicano
